SOAR (Sisters Overcoming Abusive Relationships) is a grassroots task force of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
SOAR is made up of domestic violence survivors who are dedicated to using their voices and experiences to end domestic violence.
SOAR was formed in 1989 by a group of survivors in order to address the root causes of domestic violence, and the systemic and societal issues that affect victims of domestic violence and their children.
SOAR has more than 100 members, all survivors of domestic violence.
Our mission is to promote, advocate, and work towards the elimination of domestic violence and to embody and give visibility to the voices of abused women.
